Welcome to your personal vision centre in Mayfield. For more than 47 years, Crowborough Opticians has been providing East Sussex with a wide range of eye care services. We cater for all groups starting from children as young as three years old up to elderly clients with low vision.
Our staff are highly trained and experienced in all areas of vision care. We are highly dedicated to our clients’ eye health and help them understand their individual needs. We also offer home visits for those who prefer we come to you or anyone with mobility difficulties.

A long overdue review about my recent experience at Crowborough Opticians. The service was one of a kind and rare, the type you do not really experience nowadays! I am a glass-wearer for most of my life and had so much trouble to find suitable and well fitting frames with adequately thinned lenses. The team (with Anne (hope I remember the name well) helping me all way through) was honest, not trying to sell but guided me gently to find the best glasses, and made the whole experience so much better than usually is. Children’s Eye Tests
Detecting eyesight issues at an early age can prevent reduced vision. Children as young as three years old are welcome come in for an eye check, and we can assess if they have vision or eyesight problems. You can also bring in your child for an annual check-up to ensure they are not experiencing vision issues.

Home visits
Personal care is the hallmark of our practice. For those with mobility issues or anyone who prefers us to come to them, we provide home visits in Mayfield. We will bring our OCT scanning equipment and retinal photography and over 200 frames for you to try on.
